UI/UX Design

UI/UX design

UI production for web and apps, and handing over how the work is done

Our UI/UX design service covers screen design and UI production for websites and applications. Alongside delivering the artefacts, we offer Creators Plan, in which designers join your team and hand over the way the work itself is done.

Our design team is led by a creative director who worked as an art director and creative partner at Hakuhodo Inc. They cover both the design of data-heavy screens and brand design, and have been with Third Scope since it was founded.

UI production for web and apps

Our UI production covers websites, the admin screens of business systems, and smartphone apps. On projects with more than 20 screens, we start by building a design system that defines the parts — buttons, input fields, tables — first. Deciding the parts up front means new screens can be assembled from the same combinations, which lowers both the volume of production work and the cost of later changes.

Design systems can be managed using the design system content type in Kanata , our own SaaS product (available from September 2026). Because brand colours, typography, and the definition and usage conditions of components are kept under version control, the reasoning behind decisions carries over even when the people or production partners change.

Creators Plan — handing over how the work is done

Creators Plan is a monthly time-and-materials service in which designers and engineers on the Third Scope payroll join your team. Unlike an arrangement where you only receive finished artefacts, the designers work inside your team, so the way the work is done stays with your organization.

Only permanent employees who have been with Third Scope Inc. for more than a year are assigned to Creators Plan. The minimum contract period is three months.

Working across languages

Our design team includes designers who work in English, Chinese, and Vietnamese. They can join projects run in direct conversation with teams at our overseas offices, and screen design for products shipping in several languages.

The group has three locations: Japan (Tokyo/Shibuya and Nagoya), the UK (London), and Singapore. Because Third Scope Europe in the UK oversees the creative work, text volumes that break the layout in languages other than Japanese, and expressions whose meaning shifts by region, can be checked at the design stage.

How a UI/UX design engagement runs

The five steps from reviewing the current state to checking the build

  1. Review the current screens

    What we do

Check the existing screens and how users behave, and organize the problems by priority

  2. Agree the structure

    What we do

Design the screen flow and the priority of information, and reach agreement on wireframes

  3. Build the design system first

    What we do

On projects with more than 20 screens, build the design system before the screens

  4. Produce the screens

    What we do

Design each screen and its state variations, and deliver them with specifications for implementation

  5. Check after implementation

    What we do

Review the built screens and correct any differences from the specification

Where requirements definition and implementation are commissioned together, the work runs in the same project as system development , so specifications and screens are settled while being revised side by side.

Frequently asked questions about UI/UX design

Can we commission the design only?

Yes. We can take on screen design and UI production alone, on the basis that another company or your own development team handles implementation. Anticipating the handover, we deliver the definition and usage conditions of the components alongside the designs.

What is the minimum contract period for Creators Plan?

Three months. The longer the contract, the lower the cost, and rates are set for six-month and one-year terms.

Who is assigned under Creators Plan?

Permanent designers and engineers who have been with Third Scope Inc. for more than a year. Contractors and short-term external staff are not included.

Can you work in English or Chinese?

Yes. We have designers who work in English, Chinese, and Vietnamese. They can join projects run in direct conversation with teams at our overseas offices, and screen design for products shipping in several languages.

Can we commission improvements to an existing product only?

Yes. We start by reviewing the current screens, identifying the problems, and presenting a prioritized set of improvements.
