System Development

System development

Building web applications and smartphone apps

Our system development service builds web applications, iOS and Android apps, and implementations of Autoland, our AI agent system. We handle identifying the business problem, requirements definition, database design, API design, implementation, and post-launch maintenance and operation.

What we are good at is systems whose admin side runs to dozens of screens or more. Because we build the design system first and then produce screens against it, the way things behave and look stays consistent however many screens are added. Our engineers and designers sit in the same company, so specifications and screens can be revised together mid-design.

Web application development

Our web application development covers business systems, admin screens, e-commerce sites, and booking or application systems. Screen design runs in parallel from the requirements stage, so agreement is reached looking at screens rather than specifications alone, which reduces rework after implementation.

Integrations we have delivered include Auth0 for authentication, GMO Payment Gateway for payments, Amazon EKS for container infrastructure, and Creditsafe for company information.

Stages and deliverables in web application development

  1. Business review and planning

    What we do

Identify the business problems, fix the scope, and compare ways of delivering it

    Deliverables

An issue list and a comparison of implementation approaches

  2. Requirements and design

    What we do

Define functional and non-functional requirements, design the database, the API, and the screens

    Deliverables

Requirements document, ER diagram, API specification, screen list

  3. Implementation

    What we do

Build the front end and back end, and integrate with existing systems over APIs

    Deliverables

Source code, unit and integration test results

  4. Release

    What we do

Build the cloud environment, wire in authentication and payment services, and go live

    Deliverables

    Infrastructure diagram, operating procedures

Smartphone app development (iOS and Android)

Our smartphone app development covers design, development, testing, and release to the stores. Being able to design the app together with the web system that manages it — handled by the same team as our web application work — is the advantage here.

Our work includes consumer apps incorporating AI analysis and AR, and point-card apps for member stores. Rather than treating the app in isolation, we structure the design of the data the AI reads and the operation of the management side as part of the same project. Details are listed in our case studies .

Autoland — a content platform driven by trend analysis AI

Autoland is a trend analysis AI and article generation engine that makes what internet users are interested in visible. It is an AI agent system Third Scope has offered since its founding in 2018, and it composes curated media by generating trend articles automatically by industry and genre.

In 2024, Autoland was rebuilt around generative AI. The rebuild widened the range of sources and themes it can handle and turned it into a platform that can deliver content in whatever form suits the purpose, not only as articles. Collecting trends, generating articles, and publishing them run as one continuous operation.

Autoland can be deployed in two ways: embedded into an existing site, or as the basis for launching a new media property. Third Scope also runs its own properties on Autoland, including Amview, which covers Korean beauty, and LivPlus, which covers real estate investment.

Where the goal is to attract traffic from both organic search and AI search, we design the deployment together with structured data for the articles. Structured data implementation is handled as part of AIO measures under web marketing support .

Post-launch maintenance and operation

Our maintenance and operation service is a monthly engagement covering websites and systems after launch. It handles content updates, version management for the CMS and its plugins, incident response, and improvement proposals at a monthly review.

In practice, work is recorded in an issue tracker, and the monthly review reports what was handled that month and fixes what will be handled next. We have run this arrangement continuously for the multiple brand sites of COSMOS INITIA Co., Ltd.

How our development team is set up

Third Scope Inc. has roughly 60 staff, including contract staff, as of July 2026, made up of engineers, designers, and directors.

Frequently asked questions about system development

Can we talk to you before the requirements are settled?

Yes. The stage of identifying the business problems and comparing ways of delivering them can be commissioned separately from development, over two to four weeks. The deliverables are an issue list and a comparison of implementation approaches, which are usable even if you intend to commission the build elsewhere.

Can you take on modifications to a system another company built?

Yes. Before starting, we run an investigation stage that reviews the source code and infrastructure, then present whether the modification is feasible and the effort we expect it to take.

Can we commission only the development and run operations ourselves?

Yes. At release we deliver operating procedures and an infrastructure diagram and walk your team through the handover. You can also commission only the handling of issues that arise after operations begin, on a monthly basis.

Can you cover both iOS and Android?

Yes. We cover design, development, testing, and release to the stores for both.

Can we deploy Autoland on its own?

Yes. Autoland can be deployed on its own, either by embedding trend analysis and automatic article generation into an existing site or by launching a new media property.
